Food hunting trip in Malacca

Last weekend , me and my hub were going to Malacca for our food hunting trip.  The food which selling in Malacca is much more delicious and cheaper than in Singapore. In Singapore, we might spend $150.00 for one Nyonya authentic cuisine but in Malacca we can eat 2 to 3 meals for the similar cuisine , it would be based on what kinds of food you order. We did not really traveled all places of Malacca but we spent all of our time in Jonker Street. There are nice food, nice souvenirs to buy and nice people. We shopped for our souvenirs at the first day. We bought a lot of local tit bits and plum lime juice which is hardly to buy in Singapore. Before we go to Malacca, my hub did research about the place and we did manage to eat most of the food we want., which included Asam laksa(it taste similar with the Penang Asam Laksa but I still prefer Penang AL), Durian Cendol and original Cendol ( I think this is the best), chicken rice ball and Nyonya Kuih(Dessert) All of the places we went were highly recommended by other bloggers.

Food Directory:
Durian Cendol --三叔公(san shu gong)
Original Cendol -- Jonker 88

Asam Laksa --Jonker 88
Chicken rice ball --Chung Wah
Authentic Nyonya Cuisine (Nancy's Kitchen)
Layer cake --Nadeje (Mahkota Parade)

All of the food stalls located at Jonker Street, except the layer cake

Souvenirs :
Local Food -- 三叔公(san shu gong)
Nyonya Kuih -- Baba charlie ( Jalan Tengkera, 75200 Melaka, Malaysia) ( This place is hardly to find, so when you drive please alert of the road, because it is located inside a small road and the Baba Charlie sign board is super small)
I think there are so many souvenirs shops at Jonker Street. So no worry about that.

For those who will going soon , hope you have a safe trip and enjoy your holidays ^^

Sale everywhere in Singapore

After i came back from Singapore, the first thing i was thinking to do is shopping..Today, I went forever 21 ,Zara , H&M to hunt for new clothing. What i had bought? Mainly will be T-shirts , short pants, cap, and shoes. I did not manage to get new shoes because most of it did not really match my taste. I am looking for black wedges and black lace ballet shoes. I was looking around in somerset. Finally i found the black lace, but i did not buy it not because it is too pricey just because the lace pattern did not suit my taste. Sigh hope i will find it in somewhere else. Or else my hubby will complaint about my ugly pink ballet. I got the pink ballet from h&m , but after i washed it ,the shoes turned  brown. This shoes is my favourite one !! But i had to throw it away and i just bought it for 3 months ago.Broken heart.Sob....

Where had I been?

Hey guys, I had been long long time never write any post. So where had i been ??? Curious? I went for vacations (Pulau Redang -one of the most beautiful island in Malaysia) and went back my hometown for one month. How I spent my time in Pulau Redang ? Answer was : Eat, snorkeled , eat , slp and snorkeled. Lol, Most of my time was spent inside the sea with those fishes and corals. I spent 3 days 2 nights on that island. I felt uncomfortable at the last day, because I felt seasick after snorkeled for about 4 hours in the sea while the weather was so hot and the hot sun burn my skin and half of my head ( when you snorkeling only half of your body was in the sea right and another half will be facing the sun..=.=) On the way back to the main land , i was thrown out for few times.

Guess what, I had a super great time in my hometown with my family, hubby and hubby family as well!! I brought my hubby and his family went around. ^^

For those Malaysians who want to work in Singapore

Recently I am searching some information about the employment pass and how to become a SPR(Singapore Permanent Resident) ..Sigh ..I was just finished my study in Singapore , and currently I am looking for job..I still cant find a job !!! Omg u know what..first of all , i think is my problem ..I dont have any working experience (but it doesnt mean i cannot work right), secondly, I am a Malaysian (this is the key point) . So what is the problem now.. I had submitted back my student pass and right now i am using visit pass and I have to cop my passport again and again every months until i get a job... Day by day..I am moulding..I am sending my resumes out everyday.. run through interviews. At the same time, I have question to ask you all:

The question is, can I cop my passport at the same day ( for example, I am holding visit pass and stay in Singapore right now,and the visit pass is due next week..I am not staying in JB...Can I cop my passport at JB and return back to Singapore at the same day?)

Here are some information about employment pass which I think will be useful for those who are finding a job in Singapore:

Employment Pass:
1)How long is the employment pass application process?
Answer: Usually, we submit employment pass online and we can obtain employment pass within 7 working days upon submission. However, in the event when MOM request for further documents after our first submission, it may take additional 3-5 weeks to process.

2)How long would you be granted for employment pass?
Answer: Usually at between 12 – 24  months depending on the case officer.

3) Does One Visa assist in employment pass appeal cases?
Answer: Yes, we are very experience in employment pass appeal cases and in fact our success rate is as high as 99%. However, it takes us long time to review every appeal case as we have to build a strong case in order to assist our client to secure the employment pass.

4)How long does an employment pass appeal generally takes?
Answer: An employment pass appeal normally take at least 3 weeks to process upon submission. However, 20% of the time, it takes 4 – 5 weeks to process.

5)Can I obtain an employment pass under my own company?
Answer: Yes, but it is subject to MOM’s approval.

6)What are the common rejection reason for employment pass application?
Answer: The applicant does not fulfil the criteria of employment pass or the employer can’t justify the important of the foreign employee in comparison with hiring a Singaporean

7) Who are eligible for employment pass?
Answer: Foreign entrepreneurs, directors, shareholders and skilled-professionals, investors with good qualifications.

8)Is there any quota for employment pass?
Answer: No.

9)What is the minimum salary of employment pass?
Answer: S$2,800 per month ( this is the most recent Salary range, but i think is based on the company itself, because i have a friend who work at xx company with $2000 salary pay get her employment pass)

10)How would I know if I am eligible for an employment pass?
Answer: One Visa offers free eligible assessment. You may request for an assessment and we will let you know if you are eligible.

Restoration your skin health

I had read a lot of articles about how to become whiter just now. I am desperate of getting fair skin because many people comment that i look ugly and black right now..Maybe in Taiwan they will called you as  '阳光美眉' it means beautiful tanned girl, but in Malaysia they will said 'hey, u look M'. U know what i mean.. just kidding..I tried to compile and modify their articles into my own version. So this is what I am going to do daily..I will come out my breakfast menu, maybe you will ask me that why there is no lunch and dinner menu, because I think that breakfast is the most important meal and most of the vitamins will be absorbed from the very first meal.

Breakfast menu:
1) Fruits: (Vitamin C) Strawberries, tomatoes, orange
              (Vitamin A)Baby carrots, watermelon, papaya,tomatoes
2) Food and drinks: Egg yolk, non fat milk, lemon juice

Mask:
1) Tomato Honey Mask: Two teaspoon of pure honey with one teaspoon of tomato juice
(mix them well and apply on the face) and do it daily.

2) Cucumber Mask: I think that most of you know this ( just slice the cucumber into small pieces and apply it   on the face) Personally, I do not like to mix with those honey or other thingy because I feel that it is not easy to apply in liquid form when you are on your bed or sofa, it will drop and sticky which I really hate it..

Exercise:
1) Swimming after 5p.m
2)Jogging during weekends

Hope all these method will work well on me...enjoy yours too...

Bintan trip

Guess what...I went to Bintan for my holiday^^..I was having a wonderful trip. What souvenirs I got back from Bintan were tanned body and a mobile phone accessory . As I had promised you all to tell you all about my trip. HERE YOU ARE..

Hotel that I stayed : Bintan Lagoon Resort
The room rate was quite reasonable and the room was clean. There was a golf club, for those who playing golf , you should go to this hotel.
The overall rating : 8/10

Beach:
The water was crystal clear with nice blue sky. I was spending most of my time on the beach and I saw a lot of Hermi crabs, coral crabs and fishes. Please do not take them home, because you might not be able to feed them at home. The sun was so hot over there, if you want to go and you do not want to get tan, do remember to bring your sun tan lotion with SPF 50 because SPF 30  does not protect my skin and I get tanned and ugly now.
The overall rating : 9/10

Food:
It was super duper expensive!!!! The buffet lunch that I had eaten was about S$30 with government tax about 8%. I was recommended that you should go Pasar Oleh Oleh to have your lunch. For dinner maybe you can eat in your hotel.
The overall rating : 3/10

Pasar Oleh Oleh:
There is not much thing to sell, and when I arrived, there were so many salespeople waiting for you to join their spa. If you really want to go for spa or lunch maybe you can go over there. If you expected to buy something nice from there, it was not recommended. Ok , let me tell you all what they are having there, POLO T-SHIRT shop(which will selling everywhere in Bintan), souvenir shop( I recommend you buy it at ferry terminal), authentic Indonesia restaurants and cafe and bar(which I recommend to go at night).
The overall rating : 4/10

I did not manage to go other places at Bintan because the taxi fees was so expensive. So that's all ^^

                                                           And this was my reaction:

Brown Sugar Pumpkin Crème Brûlée Recipe

YIELD: EIGHT 5" CRÈME BRÛLÉES

TOTAL TIME: 1 HOUR
This is almost like a pumpkin pie without the crust.  But with a crusty caramelized sugar top.  It is also a great option if you have gluten-free people to consider, a topic which obviously has come to the forefront of allergy concerns. For us the decision to make it is just pure tastiness. There are several options for the caramelized top: an oven-dried brown sugar, superfine sugar, raw sugar, and regular sugar. Each have their merit.  The brown sugar has a great flavor, but can burn a little too easily and doesn't develop a thin-ice like structure (some may like it's texture better if regular crème brûlée toppings are too firm for them.) Super fine is fantastic for a super thin-ice crust. It's great to have on hand for cocktails too!

ingredients:

  • 15 oz (425g) Pumpkin Puree, preferably home roasted
  • 3/4 c (200g) Brown Sugar
  • 5 lrg Egg Yolks
  • 2 t (10ml) Vanilla Extract
  • 1 t (3g) ground Cinnamon, freshly grated Vietnamese Cinnamon if you can find it
  • 1/4 t ground Allspice
  • 1/4 t ground Clove
  • 1/4 t ground Cardamom
  • 1/4 t Sea Salt
  • 3 c (700ml) Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 8 T Brown Sugar, or other preferred sugar for topping crème brûlées

directions:

    Preheat oven to 325°F
  1. Combine pumpkin puree, 3/4 c brown sugar, egg yolks, vanilla, spices, and sea salt  in a med. bowl.  Whisk to combine.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat whipping cream just to a boil. While cream heats, also begin heating a teapot full of water to use in the bain marie for baking the crème brûlées. Gradually whisk hot cream into pumpkin puree mix.
  3. Place 8 - 5" diameter x 1" deep ramekins into 2 large roasting pans. Carefully divide mixture evenly between the ramekins. Using a funnel to avoid splashing, pour enough water into the roasting pans to come 3/4's up the sides of the ramekins. Carefully place roasting pans in oven.(Alternately - place roasting pan w/o water on oven rack pulled partially out. Fill it with water 3/4's up the sides of the ramekins, then carefully slide rack into oven.)
  4. Bake until custards are just set (edges will be set but the center will still have a little wiggly when gently shook), about 35 minutes. (If you over bake the custards they will get tough and loose their smoothness, and if you under bake they will be a little runny.) Carefully remove custards from oven, then using a spatula, remove ramekins from water bath and place on a towel.  Cool slightly at room temperature, then refrigerate custards until cold.
  5. If using brown sugar for the topping, preheat oven to 300°F. Line a sheet pan with baking paper, spread out brown sugar into an even, thin layer.  Put in oven for a until it starts to dry out (@3-5 min.).  Remove from oven, allow to cool, then roll with a rolling pin to break up into granules again.  Reserve until you are ready to serve the creme brulees.
  6. When ready to serve, spread an even thin layer of dried brown sugar (or whatever sugar you are using). Using a torch or under the broiler, melt and caramelize sugar.  Allow to cool to set sugar, then serve.

Good relationships are always hard to maintain. When we look at other couples on street, shopping mall, garden or somewhere else. They look so sweet right? But did you realized how much efforts, time they had put in and even sacrifices for their relations.
